Appalachian Communities Respond to Opioids

I am excited to tell you about the new County Health Rankings & Roadmaps Peer-to-Peer Learning SeriesAppalachian Communities Respond to Opioids. This virtual learning opportunity will bring together individuals from across several Appalachian states. Participants will have the opportunity to seek insights and guidance from peers, hear from representatives of communities experiencing successes, share information about what works from experience, and jointly problem-solve around a common issue.

This series will focus on three ways communities are impacted by and responding to the opioid epidemic in Appalachia, specifically how communities have responded to:

  • Infants born to mothers gripped by addiction (July 12)
  • Grandparents raising grandchildren whose parents are struggling with addiction (July 26)
  • Youth experiencing trauma and addiction (August 9)

All sessions will convene at 3:00- 4:15 p.m. ET.

We invite you to join us by registering at this link: http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/peer-to-peer-virtual-learning-series. Please forward this invitation to other colleagues and community leaders in your state with an interest in this topic. Please note that registration is limited to make space for conversation. Lastly, we would like to inform you of a new HRSA funding opportunity we recently learned about: Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Planning.
